Fire Chief Devin Loughridge

 

​Background: Fire Chief Devin Loughridge is a Douglas County native, born and raised in the South Douglas County area. Chief Loughridge started his career in the fire service in 2004 at the age of 14. He began his career with the Tri-City RFPD as an explorer through the Boy Scouts of America. He completed the explorer program when he turned 18, where he then became a volunteer firefighter in March of 2008. In June of 2008 he graduated from South Umpqua High School. He spent many years as a volunteer working up through the ranks and eventually was promoted to Captain in 2011. In 2017 Chief Loughridge joined on with the Riddle FPD as a volunteer. He quickly promoted up through the rank from Lieutenant to Assistant Fire Chief. In January of 2018 he was selected by the Board of Directors to fill the open spot as the Fire Chief.

Chief Loughridge is an acting member of many organizations and committees.

Acting member of the South County Rescue Team.

Acting member of the Umpqua Valley Fire Instructors Association.

Acting member of the Shoestring Rd Fire Wise community.

Chief Loughridge serves as the South Douglas County Fire Chief.

Chief Loughirdge also serves as an Alternate For the Douglas County Fire Defense Board.

 

Chief Loughridge holds many EMS, Firefighting, and rescue certificates.

As of July 1, 2023, the Riddle Fire Chief is a full time career position. The chief works daytime office hours Monday through Friday.
